CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN JOEL NAPOLEON M CORONEL led the Central Luzon police cops in the observance of the 121st National Flag Day earlier this morning, May 28.
A simple flag raising ceremony was held at the PRO3 Parade Ground, Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga and was attended by the PRO3 Command group, staff and all PRO3 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel.
“Whenever our flag is raised, we are reminded of our unity in the great cause of liberty and justice for all.
The National Flag Day commemorates the day when the Philippine flag was first raised after the victory in the Battle of Alapan in 1898, wherein Filipino revolutionaries led by General Emilio Aguinaldo defeated Spanish troops to recapture the province of Cavite. It was further extended with Executive Order 173, signed by former President Fidel Ramos, which set the observance from May 28 to June 12.
